Yes, We Can!

Just typing that chokes me up.

My son came home over the weekend to cast his vote for a man who moved him so much that getting up early Saturday morning and standing in line for over 2 hours didn’t faze him. He stood straight without wavering, complaining or fidgeting.

I got choked up when they called the race because I was excited for our country. When I called my son last night shortly after the race was called, the excitement in his voice choked me all over again.

Listening to President-elect Obama’s speech last night was so inspiring that even hearing snippets today make me stop in awestruck again. Thinking about the way he’s affected so many American’s with his speeches give me comfort in knowing he will be the person representing American’s when talking to foreign leaders.

How exciting it is to be living a history making day.
